Over this Thanksgiving holiday, my husband snapped these pictures of me while I was preparing our big feast. Yes, here I am with my trusty pair of “Ove” Gloves about to take on our oven.

oveglove1ovegloveSHAZAM! Just like my fave super hero, Isis, you could hurl balls of fire at me and these “Ove” Gloves are like protective shields. I ask Santa for them every year because they really do work and my hands leave the oven (and burning buildings) completely unscathed.

There are all sorts of gloves that I think might make for great holiday gifts for yourself or for someone that you love. So, I’m going to share with you a few of my favorites.

Let’s start with something not so fancy-schmancy, but yet, practical:

jewelry glove

The jewelers glove. I know… yawn not very exciting but let me tell you, if you like to keep your jewelry shiny and clean (as I do) then beg Santa for these for your stocking. Sure, we have all used polishing cloths before but then your hands get schmutz all over them that only a surgeon can remove.   These are great!

Now for what I initially thought were the dumbest things ever…until I got a pair for myself:

Fingerless gloves. Actually, can you really call these gloves?  You know…the lack of fingers thing?  Technically they are called “Half Gloves” and were initially designed so that one could properly grip things while wearing them. We all use them for texting, typing, twisting a bottle top, applying eyeliner, etc. Surprisingly ~ your fingers do stay warm AND you can wear your larger rings underneath them.

Check out these 13 different gloves (with fingers) that will allow you to text, tweet, pin and instagram to your hearts desire. Also, this magic liquid, AnyGlove, prevents you from having to purchase any special type of glove in the first place.

Do you know someone who is not so thrilled about always being stuck washing the dishes?

Umm, yes, I know at least ONE of these people…I’m just sayin’…

bling dish gloves

Make them a pair of these blinged out dish gloves ~ here’s how.

Ok, yes, they are really nice.  Not as really nice as someone helping with washing the dishes…I’m just sayin’…

After helping wash the dishes, make sure to also give them a pair of these:

If you’ve never seen this glove before, I think it’s majorly chic ~

glove phone

Brought to us by, of course, the man: Karl Lagerfeld.  What a beautiful way to carry your phone.

And, now your glove can actually be part of your phone ~ check these out!

Can you hear me now?  Bluetooth Talking Gloves…they are even on sale!

I, however, plan to stick with this pair.  I’m going to give them to my very best friend; my husband.
