Ok.  Have you ever used a retinol product that caused your skin to be dry and/or flaky and also irritated your skin?  I certainly have.

So, when the kind folks at Healthy Directions gifted me a full-sized bottle of Dr Lark’s Trilane Retinol + Vitamin C moisturizing oil, I was excited to try it out because the product claims to:

box

    1. Reduce fine lines and wrinkles ~ You had me at Reduce.
    2. Protect your skin from environmental damage
    3. Smooth and even out skin texture
    4. Speed turnover of skin cells
    5. Gentle enough for everyday use  ~ There’s more, but my blog post can only be so long.

Additionally, their nifty little chart was seriously sparking my interest.instantBut, the main reason I wanted to give Trilane Retinol + Vitamin C moisturizing oil a try was because it contains squalane, an ingredient that is ultra-hydrating.  I was first exposed to squalane during a trip to South America where I indulged in an amazing squalane product filled facial that has yet to be matched ~ and with this bullseye patch of dry skin I’ve got sitting right in-between my eyes, I was ready for it.

I have been using Trilane Retinol + Vitamin C moisturizing oil for 2 weeks now.  I’ve discovered that a little bit of this oil (like 1 or 2 drops) goes a long way, and …

tray1you don’t need to use the little exfoliating sponges I have pictured above as part of your routine, because the product itself provides a gentle exfoliation.

So, “Do I like it?”  ~ you ask, needing to know now.

I DO.  This product appears to be doing exactly what it claims it will do however, I have one comment.  Because this is an oil, I found that, for my skin, it is best that I use this product at night.  Otherwise, if I use it in the morning, I feel like I don’t have enough time to allow my skin to fully absorb it before I plop all my makeup on.  Other than this issue, I think this product is great! ~ it also didn’t hurt that that the last time I ordered a glass of wine, the server carded me.  Did that happen  because this product is doing a bang-up job?  or… (no need for anyone to really comment here.)
